What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidenced-based psychotherapy that was developed to help alleviate distress tied to traumatic memories. It is most often recommended for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, but can be adapted to treat a variety of mental health conditions through reprocessing “stuck” memories and helping engage the brain’s natural desire to heal. Because choosing how to take care of your mental health is a very personal decision, I am happy to discuss more over a consultation call to help you decide if EMDR is right for you.
